News and Events

CCAC was founded in 2012 by a group of volunteers who envisioned a supportive network of artists in the West Cork area and a friendly environment in which for them to work, meet and exhibit. By 2024 CCAC had become an important creative hub with monthly exhibitions by artists from all over Ireland. In February 2026, having been on notice for 14 months, CCAC lost its long term premises in Asna Square. Now, as of late May 2026 the Arts Centre will be located at No. 8 Kent St, (opposite the Clonakilty library), as part of an inaugural Meanwhile Use scheme conceived and implemented by Cork County Council. CCAC will use the temporary placement (6-12 months) to address the urgent need for community infrastructure in the town, and to showcase how successful a permanent arts centre could be on Kent St, in the heart of Clonakilty.
